Alright, I confess, I'm finally starting to get into reggae a little bit. There have been a few more palatable releases lately thanks to the Rise of Bob Marley. I've always wanted to like reggae, it just... doesn't keep my attention usually though. *shrugs* Not that this is all reggae. This is Mimosa. This... is... dubstep!!!
Plumber, you don't like dubstep. That's totally acceptable, you won't be alone.
Now this song had... no reggae, just english-carib vocals on an electronic based beat making it uh, dancehall! I still LOVE those, but if that's all you really need to get into, check yourself out some Major Lazer. Duo that focuses on Jamaican musical roots and exploits it all to the electronic side. I wrote about one of their songs a while ago, Cash Flow. It's more reggae than the rest of the album and if you 'want' to like reggae, it's a nice place to kick yourself to move forward with :D
I might be alone on this one, but i didnt like it. Not really my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteI was going to listen and then you called it Dubstep.

ReplyDeleteYeah, this remix is a classic! Mimosa is one of my favorites, never fails me!
ReplyDeleteThis is quite an odd song. Its a new experience for me!

ReplyDeleteMy husband feels the same way you do about reggae. I really enjoy it, though.
